Plastic pollution from single use drinking straws  are a major source of pollution of our aquatic systems. Out of all the pollution in the world’s ocean, 90% are from plastic waste and plastic straws remain in the top ten plastic products found. By proposing a ban in the city of  Encinitas that will discourage the consumption of single use straws in businesses and at home, we can stop these short lived plastics from invading our environment

Our Mission
Environmental Action
Setting Precedent

The City of Encinitas will lead the West Coast effort in preventing all unnecessary single use plastic waste.  Encinitas will be the second city in the U.S. to ban plastic straws after Miami Beach, Florida!
